I have been a member of SECA and SCECA for over 20 years and I have held many positions. Currently, I am Member-At-Large for SECA. I served as a SECA Representative for SC for 6 years. In SCECA I have served as Chair of Membership, Conference Chair, President of SCECA, and President and VP of District One and Other Districts for numerous years. I am retired (officially) but currently I am the Executive Director of Dorchester First Steps, a non-profit with the mission of preparing children birth to age 5 for school success.

I love SECA and SCECA and I’m excited that I can even nominate myself for this position. I have great vision for SECA and I rejoice that we are staying current and working to make a difference in the lives of our most precious resource-our children. I would love the opportunity to lead us to that end. Thank you for this opportunity of being considered.

I am self-motivated and progress-driven with an extensive background in early childhood. My years of experience as a child care director, quality enhancement coach and early childhood consultant and educator have allowed me to develop strong-positive relationships with early childhood providers, professionals and families.  My current position allows me to work with Resource and Referral offices across the state of Oklahoma providing guidance as we assist providers with strengthening business practices and leadership skills.

I have worked side by side with providers as they developed, reviewed and revised policy and procedures, aligning them with quality indicators developed by NAEYC and CCAoA. I have provided training and technical assistance to administrators focusing on emergency preparedness, leadership skills and business practices. I have written multiple leadership classes which have been made available in person, web-based and on-demand. I have strong organizational skills and am a team player.
